Hot Bite on the Georgia Coast – Inshore Action Heats Up
Savannah and Ogeechee Canal - Chatham, GA
The past couple of weeks have brought steady action and solid catches in the waters around Savannah, GA. Inshore fishing has been especially productive, with healthy numbers of sheepshead, black drum, and redfish keeping rods bent. Fiddler crabs have been the top bait choice for targeting structure-holding species like sheepshead around docks, rock piles, and nearshore reefs.
Anglers are also finding black sea bass in good numbers on bottom structure just offshore. The tides have lined up nicely, and water clarity has been favorable for sight fishing on calmer days. With warming temps, bite windows are getting longer—and the fish are hungry.
Whether you're a local or visiting the Georgia coast, now’s a great time to hit the water.
