Savannah and Ogeechee Canal - Chatham, GA Fishing Report on 28th Oct, 2025 - 3

Had some visitors from Denmark today, (came here just to fish) they wanted three things, flounder, triple tail, and a big bonnet head. I won’t lie I didn’t think when we left the dock that we could do all three but we went to work and caught everything we wanted, plus more. They let me keep a couple of the flounders for dinner. It was a special day.

Reeling in Summer Bounty: An Exhilarating Daufuskie Island Escapade

It was another great day out on the water with Denell and their crew for our Private Inshore Fishing Trip down in Daufuskie Island. June is a prime time for inshore action in these parts, with the warmer waters bringing the summer gamefish like Summer Flounder, Sheepshead, and Southern Flounder closer to the shore. We met up at the usual spot in Savannah, GA and headed out around 4:00 PM under partly cloudy skies. As soon as we got the lines in the water, the rods started bending. Denell was the first to hook up, battling a feisty Sheepshead that put up one heck of a fight before we got it in the boat. The rest of the crew stayed busy too, working a mix of deep sea, jigging, and light tackle techniques to target the different species. We landed some nice Summer Flounder and Southern Flounder, and even had a few Black Drum come unbuttoned after some intense runs. The fishing stayed steady throughout the afternoon, with plenty of action to keep everyone engaged. In between catches, we took in the sights of the Daufuskie Island coastline and swapped stories from past trips. It's always a good time when you get to spend the day fishing with a fun group like this, and today was no exception. The variety of species and techniques made it a well-rounded trip, and I think everyone left feeling satisfied with the day's work. If you're looking to experience some of the best inshore fishing the Savannah, GA area has to offer, I can't recommend Captain Zach's Fishing Charters enough. Savannah's Inshore Fishing Bonanza: Reeling In Redfish, Sheepshead, and More!

It was a beautiful day on the water as Nicole and their crew joined me for a Private Inshore Fishing Trip in Savannah, GA. The weather was partly cloudy throughout the day, with a chance of storms, but that didn't dampen our spirits. We met up at the agreed upon spot and got ourselves situated, eager to see what the inshore waters had in store. As we headed out, the anticipation was palpable. We decided to try a mix of deep sea, jigging, trolling, and light tackle techniques, working different areas of the Whitemarsh Island waters. It didn't take long before the first rod bent over, and Nicole set the hook on a feisty Black Drum. That fish put up a great fight, but she handled it like a pro, and we had it in the boat in no time. The action just kept getting better from there, with Redfish and Sheepshead hitting our baits with enthusiasm. The day had a great rhythm to it - the perfect blend of steady fishing and good company. Between reeling in fish, we had the chance to take in the Savannah scenery and just enjoy being out on the water. There's nothing quite like the thrill of watching a fish explode on your lure or bait, and we got to experience that feeling over and over again. By the time we called it a day, we had a nice mixed bag of inshore species to show for our efforts. If you're looking to get in on some world-class inshore fishing in Savannah, GA, I'd highly recommend booking a Private Inshore Fishing Trip with Captain Zach's Fishing Charter. Hot Bite on the Georgia Coast – Inshore Action Heats Up fishing report coverpicture

April 30, 2025

Savannah and Ogeechee Canal - Chatham, GA Fishing Report on 30th Apr, 2025

The past couple of weeks have brought steady action and solid catches in the waters around Savannah, GA. Inshore fishing has been especially productive, with healthy numbers of sheepshead, black drum, and redfish keeping rods bent. Fiddler crabs have been the top bait choice for targeting structure-holding species like sheepshead around docks, rock piles, and nearshore reefs. Anglers are also finding black sea bass in good numbers on bottom structure just offshore. The tides have lined up nicely, and water clarity has been favorable for sight fishing on calmer days. With warming temps, bite windows are getting longer—and the fish are hungry. Whether you're a local or visiting the Georgia coast, now’s a great time to hit the water.
